He shakes his head. Ronan didn't tell him. And Noah hasn't confronted him yet. He's afraid of what they'll each say.
"He didn't have to." Their thoughts circle back to it, louder with each passing day. The approach of the point of no return. "I told him I don't want to die again," he says, like a confession of guilt. It doesn't matter that he wasn't asking for this. Because Ronan wouldn't pursue this for himself. He wants to save the people he cares about, including Noah.
"It wouldn't have mattered if you had said nothing," Kylo tells him, though whether it's an attempt to assuage his guilt or simply dismiss it isn't entirely clear. His eyes narrow slightly as he watches Noah's face, his own shifting into suspicion.
I know.
But what is it, that Noah thinks he knows? The plan itself? The reasons behind it? The lingering disquiet Kylo is still trying to banish?
"What is it you want? Not from Ronan. You didn't come to him. What do you want from me."
What he knows is a mixture of all of those things, but it's Kylo's doubts that brought him here. If Kylo had none, if this was something he could do without a second thought... There would be no point in trying to reach him. Deep down though, he doesn't think Kylo wants this either, for all that he might be capable of it.
But he has to choose his words carefully.
"I want you to see that this isn't saving him," Noah says finally.
